What to Wear to Tomorrowland

Tomorrowland, one of the biggest and best music festivals in the world, takes place in Boom, Belgium over two weekends in July. If you’re one of the lucky 400,000 people to snag a ticket, you’re probably wondering what the heck should I wear?! (way more important than accommodations and travel plans, of course!)
The obvious non-answer would be: wear whatever you’re comfortable with that is comfortable, because anything goes, which is true and great! But I’d like to dig deeper than that and be more specific about what my style is and what I like to wear.
If you’ve attended events in the US, the culture and attire is completely different. Attendees express themselves with their outfits-- from bedazzled tops with lots of flowers and lights to elaborate costumes and tutus! In Europe, I noticed that the fashion is toned down as festival goers tended to dress more for a casual picnic powwow, meaning t-shirts and shorts for guys (ok, not that different from the US...) and also girls (pretty darn different from the US). Don't let that stop you from expressing yourself though! I saw a handful of girls in rave bras and stuff and no one batted an eye.
So if you’re out there struggling to find something to wear, these are my go-to outfits! My style is feminine--lots of soft lace and florals, so if that's a look you're going for, this can be your guide. I've also included other OOTDs from other festivals/events as well! But right before I get into that, I just want to say that there may be a high chance of rain so bring a waterproof coat (and store it in your locker) and wear some comfy boots! They do give out ponchos, but that won't stop you from feeling the evening chill. Or like many festival goers, bring a flag to protect you from the rain and show off where you're from.

  1. Long, sheer skirts
  2. You can never go wrong with a long, sheer skirt paired with a cute bralette or bodysuit! They are perfect additions that are breezy and light enough to not be annoying. I purchased my black skirt from Amazon! Bralettes can be purchased from pretty much anywhere but I've been liking the comfort and style of Victoria's Secret (on sale of course).

  3. Cropped tops
  4. I personally like matching cropped tops and bottoms as you won't have to worry about an outfit not matching because... well its made to match. These are fun to wear with a statement necklace.

  5. Bodysuits
  6. Bodysuits have made a comeback recently and I can see why! Who hates when your top continuously rides up and exposes the winter bod?? I know I do, so donning a cute bodysuit hides all that, plus its comfy and there are so many designs. I usually wear body suits with high waisted shorts and a belt with decorative accents. Beware of swimsuit one-pieces as taking it on and off to use the port-a-potty might not be as pleasant as it could be.

  7. Floral cardigans
  8. These flowy cardigans are a festival staple because so easy to throw one over an outfit to enhance it, all while making you feel like a princess. They can also serve as a cover-up if it gets a little chilly at the end of a night of dancing.

  9. Headbands
  10. Flower crowns, headbands, and especially cat headbands are suuuuper cute additions to any outfit! Get creative and match them with everything

  11. WINGS
  12. Maybe the most 'out there' outfit accessory I've worn, who hasn't wanted to be a beautiful butterfly? These are from iheartraves and are just fun to wave and flap around in! These actually attach to your finger so they don't stick out and poke others. Be warned, when it rains, these will definitely get soaked... but I loved wearing them and got multiple compliments on them!

So these are the types of outfits I'd wear to festival like Tomorrowland! Remember, comfort is extremely important as you can't show off your amazing festival outfit if it makes you miserable wearing it. I wish I could go this year, so please have a lot of fun for me!

Places to purchase

I tend to buy pieces from many different stores. Since these aren't exactly closet staples, I don't want to spend an arm and a leg on them. I tend to shop for these at fast fashion stores like Forever21, Charlotte Russe, tobi, and na-kd to name a few! Happy planning!
